Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd (Virgin Atlantic) offer all year round direct daily flights from the United Kingdom to both Miami International Airport (MIA) and Orlando International Airport (MCO) in Florida but some routes only operate during the summer months.

You can also reach Tampa, Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers with one stop using their code sharing American partner, Delta Airlines, typically via Atlanta Hartfield-Jackson International Airport.

The current flight schedule from the UK to Florida offers:

At the start of the COVID-19 virus pandemic, all Virgin Atlantic flights to Florida were suspended and Virgin closed their Gatwick operation and moved to Heathrow. It is unclear if/when they will return to Gatwick. Flights have resumed but UK visitors are still not allowed to fly until the US government rescinds the travel ban

  • Manchester Airport (MAN) to Orlando International Airport (MCO); one to two flights daily
  • London Gatwick Airport (LGW) to Orlando International Airport (MCO); one to three flights daily — switched to Heathrow
  • London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Miami International Airport (MIA); one flight daily
  • Glasgow International Airport (GLA) to Orlando International Airport (MCO); up to four flights per week during the summer months, March to November

Virgin Atlantic Seat Classes

On their flights to Florida, Virgin Atlantic offers three seat classes, Economy, Premium Economy and Upper Class.

In 2018, Virgin introduced three variations on their Economy package, Economy Light, Economy Classic and Economy Delight.

  • Economy Classic — effectively the same as the original Virgin Atlantic Economy with one checked bag and prior seat selection
  • Economy Delight — more expensive but you can choose extra legroom 34” seat pitch seats, access to the Premium Economy check-in desks and priority boarding
  • Premium Economy — better inflight service than standard economy with wider seats and more legroom. Meals are served on real crockery, cutlery and table linen. You also get dedicated check-in desks and priority boarding
  • Upper Class — almost flat beds as well as chauffeur driven transport to/from the airport at each end of the journey. Where available you have access to airport clubhouses and lounges plus free seat assignment from 331 days before you fly
