Busch Gardens Mobile Application
Busch Gardens has produced a free official mobile app for both their Busch Gardens parks including Tampa. It is currently available for download from the iTunes Store and an Android version was released in December 2011.
Features of the Busch Gardens mobile app include an interactive park map showing all the shows, rides, animal connections (exhibits), restrooms (including companion restrooms, restaurants, nursing facilities, first aid points, defibrillator locations, drinks and snacks, guest information points, lockers, ATMs and smoking locations.
For each location it will show you its position on the park map and if you are actually in the park, tell you how far away you are and provide a highlighted navigation path.
From the home screen you can use the search facilities to search for the nearest restroom for example.
The map is a regular colour perspective “brochure” style map with zoom options.
Clicking on a location icon on the map brings up an information box which you can then click for further details. For each attraction there is a short description and details of any height or age restrictions so you can plan according to the make up of your party.
For rides you can get real-time wait times, for shows it will show you the next show time, for restaurants an idea of the menu and for gift shops the types of gifts on offer.
Before you visit Busch Gardens, you can get driving directions, the weather forecast, check operating hours and mark the location of your car before heading into the park to make it easier to find it at the end of the day.
If you are into social media, you can connect to Facebook or Twitter right from the application. If your device has a built in camera then you can take a photo from within the app.
You can also get more information on the animals you encounter inside the park, the various up-close tours, quick queue rides, seasonal events like Howl-O-Scream and dining deals.
Note that some features of the Busch Gardens mobile app need access to your network whilst you are in the park, to be able to operate.
