Beyond Future World is the World Showcase Lagoon surrounded by 11 country sponsored exhibits.

You can either walk all the way around the lagoon, a distance of 1.3 miles (2 km) or you can take a ferry from one side to the other (boat docks are located near Mexico, Canada, Morocco and Germany).

The World Showcase does not usually open at the same time as the rest of the park but generally stays open later into the evening culminating in the magnificent IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth fireworks and laser show set to music

Note that you can also enter the World Showcase from Disneyโ€™s Boardwalk through the International Gateway which is situated between the United Kingdom and France.

Each country exhibit allows you to experience their own architecture, culture, food and products. Some have rides or shows and often feature live entertainment. Reading clockwise around the lagoon are the countries of:

  • Mexico
  • Norway
  • China
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • USA
  • Japan
  • Morocco
  • France
  • United Kingdom and
  • Canada

All the country exhibit were opened in 1982 when Epcot itself opened except for Morocco in 1984 and Norway in 1986.

Norway stopped contributing to their pavilion in 2002 and following the success of the animated โ€œFrozenโ€ film, Disney replaced the Maelstrom ride which closed in 2014 with the Frozen Ever After ride.
