The Fodor’s guides are renowned for their authoritative editorial and colour photographs.

There are two books on Florida in general, though the Fodor’s Exploring Florida has not been re-published since 2006. The main Fodor’s Florida book is published annually.

South Florida

There are three books on South Florida, namely Fodor’s South Florida, Fodor’s Miami & Miami Beach and Fodor’s In Focus Florida Keys.

Walt Disney World Resort

There are two books on the Walt Disney World Resort. The main Fodor’s Walt Disney World: with Universal Orlando and SeaWorld guide covers just about everything and there is an edition with kids in mind, Fodor’s Walt Disney World with Kids: with Universal Orlando and SeaWorld.

Like the Birnbaum books, if you are specifically visiting without kids then you might want to consider The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World for Grown-Ups which focuses on attractions and activities more suitable to adults.

There are also two Florida related books in the 25 Best series; Fodor’s Miami’s 25 Best and Fodor’s Orlando’s 25 Best.

For anyone contemplating a Caribbean cruise, then there is Fodor’s Caribbean and Fodor’s Caribbean Ports of Call. There is also a more general book called The Complete Guide to Caribbean Cruises.

Unlike the Unofficial Guides, the Fodor’s Guides are richly illustrated with colour photographs.

If you are looking for an “official” guide book (for Walt Disney World) then you should consider the Birnbaum books, alternatively, there are also various books from Frommer, the Unofficial Guides and PassPorter.
