Like villas, condominiums (apartments) provide independent accommodation giving you the flexibility to come and go as you please. Whilst you lose some of the seclusion of a villa with your own private pool, you often gain with additional amenities.
You can also rent or buy timeshares in condominium apartments (confusingly these are often referred to as villas) or rent them from the owners.
A lot of Florida condos have community facilities such as:
- a club house with pool tables
- video games and a cinema
- shops and a grocery store
- restaurant bar/grill
- fitness rooms with massage and sauna rooms
- tennis courts and large communal swimming pools for both adults and children.
You will find many of the condominium complexes on the main tourist beaches like Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach and Panama City Beach as well as places like Orlando, Miami and the Keys.
The apartment itself will typically have living and dining areas, a kitchen and one or more bedrooms with en-suite facilities plus washing machine, dryer, TV and DVD/VCR.
