When LEGOLAND Florida took over Cypress Gardens it was certain that they would create one “land” exclusively for toddlers themed on DUPLO. DUPLO appeals to toddlers with its oversized bricks and so LEGOLAND Florida built a separate DUPLO area on the site of the former Cypress Gardens Gamesville. It is located close to LEGO Kingdoms and Fun Town.
Originally it was called DUPLO Village but in October 2013 it was shut and redeveloped as DUPLO Valley re-opening in May 2014.
The whole area was given a farming and countryside theme and was upgraded with three new attractions featuring a train, tractors and a water play area all aimed at the 2 to 5 year old.
The existing distinctive red DUPLO Barn, now called the DUPLO Farm gives young kids the chance to play on life-sized farm themed DUPLO play sets. Parent can relax in the toddler room whilst the youngsters play with DUPLO bricks. For added comfort it offers air-conditioning.
The Baby Care Center which is housed inside the DUPLO Barn and offers private nursing stations, rocking chairs, microwaves, bottle warmers, high chairs, changing stations with nappies (diapers) and Wi-Fi, cell phone charging stations remained open during the redevelopment.
The first new attraction features a DUPLO Train which travels through a countryside themed area with farms, fishing holes and campgrounds. Kids can ride solo or with their parents.
There is also a mini-tractor DUPLO Tractor ride where kids can plough cornfields and hunt for missing farm animals.
The new splash and water play area DUPLO Splash & Play offers water spouts and interactive water features with larger than life LEGO farm animals all with a soft deck for added safety.
The DUPLO Tot Spot is specifically designed for the under twos with a small slide and playhouse.
DUPLO Village – Replaced by DUPLO Valley
The original DUPLO Village had a number of rides specifically for the 2 to 5 year old age group. It appealed to families with small children as everything was scaled with their size in mind and the rides had room for both adults and children so they could be accompanied on the rides.
In the DUPLO Play Town you could explore the town and farm or play on the soft surface play area with water fountains and slides.
The Fire Brigade, Trucks and Cars attraction let toddlers ride in a variety of different LEGO inspired vehicles.
The Flight Squadron – Plane ride allowed you to ‘fly’ your fighter plane around, much like the ‘Dumbo’ style ride at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
