Disney offers UK and Ireland residents special 7-Day and 14-Day Disney Magic Tickets (formerly known as Disney Ultimate Tickets) which can be purchased in advance through the Walt Disney World Travel Company.

They are similar in benefits to the regular multi day tickets that include the Park Hopper Plus option that you can buy in the USA but they also have other benefits.

Walt Disney World is currently running a special promotion that allows you to purchase a 14-Day Magic Ticket for the price of a 7-Day Magic Ticket for arrivals until 25th October 2022

Like most of the Florida theme parks, anyone aged 10 or over on the day of their first entry to the Disney theme parks is classed as an adult and will have to buy an adult ticket.

Children between the ages of 3 and 9 are classed as children and may purchase a child ticket.

Children under the age of 3 are admitted for free.

Walt Disney World UK & Ireland Residents Special Offers and Deals

Sometimes Walt Disney World run special offer ticket deals like offering their 14-Day Magic Ticket for the price of a 7-Day Magic Ticket.

Right now there is one special ticket deal for UK & Ireland residents:

  • get a 14-Day Magic Ticket for the price of a 7-Day Magic Ticket for arrivals before 25th October 2022

Even without the deal, a 14-Day Magic ticket can normally be purchased for just £20 (or €20) more than a 7-Day ticket.

These tickets can be purchased online from the official Walt Disney World Travel Company website (opens in a new window).

Walt Disney World Reservations

Note that at present you have to make reservations for a park for each day that you wish to visit, not just the first day. This can be easily done with the Disney My Experience app using the Disney Park Pass reservation system.

If you subsequently decide to park hop you do not need to make a further reservation but currently you cannot park hop until after 2 p.m. each day.

Reservations are only required for the four theme parks, you do not need to make a reservation for the two water parks.

How Do Disney Magic Tickets Work

Known as the Walt Disney World Resort Magic Ticket, it is available for 7 days or 14 days and is only available to United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland residents.

A 7-Day Magic Ticket includes seven days of admission and can be used over a 15 day window. The 14-Day ticket includes 14 days of admission and can be used over an 18 day window.

Throughout the year Disney offer a number of exclusive deals and packages to UK and Ireland visitors including free dining, special price hotel stays and combined flight/hotel deals

Alternatively, you can buy the normal Disney tickets either before you leave for Florida or when you arrive in Florida. If you live in mainland Europe then you can purchase the regular multi-day tickets and pay for them in Euros.

In October 2018, Disney introduced date-based ticket pricing for their four theme parks. One of the advantages of the special UK & Ireland multi-day tickets was that the price was not affected by the new seasonal daily prices but from November 2021 Disney retired their Ultimate Tickets and introduced new Disney Magic Tickets which are seasonally priced.

To decide whether it is worth buying the special UK and Ireland visitor Magic Tickets, you need to think about the following:

  • how many days do you plan to spend at Walt Disney World as opposed to other park, going to the beach etc.
  • which Disney parks do you want to visit
  • do you want to park hop on the same day
  • do you want to go to the Disney water parks
  • do you want to play golf or mini golf on the Disney golf courses
  • what is the exchange rate like at the moment

Then you can compare prices for equivalent multi-day Walt Disney World theme park ticket options with the special Disney Magic Tickets.

Remember in the USA, displayed prices typically do not include sales tax whereas in the UK they generally do.

Typically the Disney UK & Ireland Magic Tickets are better value for money than buying regular multi-day tickets in the USA though the introduction of seasonal pricing has reduced the price advantage in some cases.

Disney Magic Ticket Options

Current Walt Disney World Magic Ticket options for UK and Ireland residents are:

Differences between the old Disney Ultimate Tickets and the new Disney Magic Tickets

From November 3, 2021 Disney stopped selling the old style Disney Ultimate Tickets and replaced them with the new Disney Magic Tickets.

If you purchased a Disney Ultimate Ticket prior to November 3, 2021 then it is still valid for the year it was originally purchased for.

Disney have made a couple of changes between the two types of tickets, firstly the new Magic Tickets are now seasonally priced whereas the Disney Ultimate Tickets were priced purely by calendar year.

For the purpose of the Disney Magic Tickets, there are three seasons (ranked from cheapest to most expensive):

  • Value - low season when the parks tend to be quieter
  • Regular - various holiday seasons around Easter, Summer, Halloween and Thanksgiving
  • Peak - Christmas and New Year

The seasonal price is dictated by the first date of the ticket so it pays to look carefully at the booking calendar when choosing your start date as moving your dates a couple of days either way could affect the price.

Also the original 7 day and 14 day Ultimate Tickets were valid for up to 7 or 14 separate day visits over a period of 14 days.

The new Magic Tickets can be used for 7 or 14 visits over a slightly longer period of 15 or 18 days respectively.

There also used to be a 21 day Disney Ultimate Ticket which offered excellent value for money if you could take 21 days of Disney!! At present the 21 day ticket is no longer for sale.

Note that the tickets run from the first date selected when initially purchasing the tickets but you still need to make sure you make a reservation for each planned day you make a theme park visit.

What Do The 7-Day and 14-Day Walt Disney World Magic Tickets Include

The 7-Day and 14-Day Magic Tickets give you access to:

  • all four Disney theme parks; Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom with Park Hopper
  • both the Disney water parks; Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon (open seasonally)
  • ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex (some events priced separately)
  • Memory Maker with unlimited download of your Disney PhotoPass photos (adult tickets only, worth $199)
  • Disney’s Oak Trail golf course (green fees only)
  • plus one round per day at Disney’s Fantasia Gardens or Summerland Miniature Golf Courses

Note that each of the two water parks closes annually for maintenance but at any one time, at least one of the parks will be open.

Disney Magic Ticket Price Comparison

This example gives a good indication of comparative pricing between a 7-Day Magic Ticket and their USA 7-Day Multi-Park counterpart in the value season:

  • a 7-Day Disney UK Magic ticket for use in 2022 will cost you £469 including all taxes and be valid for 7 days in a 15 consecutive day window from date of first use
  • an equivalent 7-Day Walt Disney World theme park ticket with the Park Hopper Plus Option would cost around $623 including all taxes and would be valid for any 7 days in 10 consecutive days

The Park Hopper Plus option includes the two water parks as well as park hopping, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Disney’s Oak Trail golf course, Disney’s Fantasia Gardens and Summerland Miniature Golf Courses and basically offers the same benefits as provided by the Disney Magic Tickets with the exception of Memory Maker.

The advanced purchase Memory Maker add-on option is an additional $169 which would increase the costs of the USA purchased tickets to around $803 including taxes.

Assuming an exchange rate of 1.2 between UK Sterling and US Dollars, the UK 7-Day Magic Ticket works out at about $563 including taxes which is slightly cheaper than the USA equivalent multi-day ticket (without Memory Maker) if you visit in the low season.

However if you were not bothered about park hopping, the water parks and all the other options including Memory Maker then you could buy a USA 7 day one park a day ticket for about $511 which is less than the equivalent Magic Ticket.

So for a typical Value season date, assuming all Sterling prices are converted to US Dollars at a rate of 1.2 and include taxes:

  • 7-Day Disney Magic Ticket = $563
  • 7-Day Disney Ticket (one park per day) = $511
  • 7-Day Disney Ticket with Park Hopper Plus option = $623
  • 7-Day Disney Ticket with Park Hopper Plus option and Memory Maker = $803

For Peak season around Christmas time:

  • 7-Day Disney Magic Ticket = $635
  • 7-Day Disney Ticket (one park per day) = $643
  • 7-Day Disney Ticket with Park Hopper Plus option = $760
  • 7-Day Disney Ticket with Park Hopper Plus option and Memory Maker = $940

Note that prices for multi-day Walt Disney World theme park tickets vary by start date on a daily basis so it is difficult to provide an exact comparison.

Disney’s 14-Day Magic Ticket is typically only an extra £20 but Disney often has a deal where you get a 14-Day Magic ticket for the price of a 7-Day Magic ticket).

Either way the 14 day ticket is a good deal compared to buying your ticket in the USA as the most days you can even buy on a multi-day ticket in the USA is 10 days unless you purchase an annual pass.

In 2019 Disney introduced a new special 2 day ticket for the Summer but it was only valid until August 27, 2019, just before Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened and unlike the other tickets it did not allow park hopping.

Remember you also need to budget $25 per day for parking no matter which ticket you buy.

Walt Disney World UK & Ireland Residents Magic Ticket Prices for 2022/2023

Because of fluctuating exchange rates, all these prices are subject to change and you should check with the Walt Disney World Travel Company (opens in a new window) for the latest prices. Note, these prices are in either UK sterling or Euros and include all taxes, all other Disney ticket prices on the other ticket pages are in US dollars and do not include sales tax.

For the old UK and Ireland Ultimate Tickets, Disney used to set a price for each year rather than date based pricing but from November 2021, Disney switched to seasonal pricing. Normally the new Magic Tickets are available from the first day of the year and must have their first use by the last day of the year for the year that they have been bought for.
