There’s a couple of ways to travel around Florida, as well as different ways to travel to Florida. Most people who visit Florida arrive by air, particularly if you are traveling from Europe but of course you can also arrive overland by road or rail or by sea (cruises).
We once met a family who were visiting Walt Disney World for a long weekend, having travelled by car from Wyoming (fours days driving each way).
Whilst in Florida, many people rent a car when they arrive but it is possible to vacation in Florida without a car.
Because of Florida’s popularity as a holiday destination, flights book up very quickly so don’t leave it until the last minute to try and book.
If you plan to travel to Florida over peak seasons such as Christmas and Easter or during school holidays then you need to book well in advance.
Do bear in mind though that if you cannot get a direct flight to the Florida holiday destination of your choice, you can always consider flying into another major US city such as Atlanta, Washington or Chicago for example and then taking an internal flight to Florida.
