Florida hotels offer everything from budget stays to full-service resorts, with most rooms accommodating up to four people and many Orlando options including free theme park transportation.
There are a diverse range of hotels throughout Florida with corresponding price ranges. You will find all the major chains like Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton and Sheraton as well as lots of smaller groups and chains.
Most hotel rooms will also have a choice of either a king-sized bed (super king in England) or two doubles, so many can accommodate up to four people. All are usually en-suite.
In most hotels in Florida, you just pay for the room, not per person
Some hotels have suites where you have a living room/kitchenette adjoining your bedroom.
These can be quite versatile and give your more space to relax, especially if you have children with you.
If you are staying in the Orlando area, then many of the hotels will offer free transportation to the theme parks so if you are not planning on travelling far, you can get away without renting a car.
The Disney resort hotels are all themed, and provide extra amenities to their guests such as:
- Character Breakfasts in their restaurants (attended by favourite Disney characters)
- early entry into the parks before the rest of the world is allowed in and extra hours some evenings plus
- free transportation between all resorts and attractions; however, Disney’s Magical Express airport shuttle service ended in 2022 and is no longer available.
Universal Orlando operates several themed resort hotels, and guests at select properties receive benefits like early park entry and complimentary transport to the Universal theme parks. Whilst SeaWorld do not have any hotels of their own, they have negotiated deals with some local hotels at the southern end of International Drive.
Be aware that many Florida hotels, especially near major theme parks, charge daily resort fees and parking fees, which are often not included in the headline price. Always check the total cost when booking. You can often avoid hidden fees by booking through platforms that show the full price upfront, or by joining hotel loyalty programs that may waive resort or parking fees for members.
