A new venue called the Sunset Showcase has opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Sunset Boulevard near to the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. It has been designed with a view to hosting different events over time.
Club Disney
On December 4, 2015 the Club Disney dance-party for kids experience premiered featuring a dance party with a DJ playing Top 40 Radio Disney songs and the chance to meet your favourite Disney characters.
The attraction comes alive with vivid images from classic Disney animation. There is a snack station, seating area and places to recharge your electrical devices.
Admission is free and is included in the standard park admission.
Club Villain
Starting on January 16, 2016 the Sunset Showcase is transformed into Club Villain on select evenings. The Club Disney event continues during the daytime.
This is a separately ticketed dining and dancing event featuring Disney villains including the Queen of Hearts, Maleficent, Cruella De Vil and the Evil Queen from Snow White and hosted by Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog.
The event includes cocktails, beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks from the Potions Bar, New Orleans and beyond style food (banquet style seating), music, entertainment and a DJ.
Admission costs $129 per person (including tax and gratuities) and park admission is also required. Discounts are available for Disney Vacation Club members and annual passholders.
Show times are at 5:45 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Reservations are recommended.
The event runs on most Saturdays. It started on January 16, 2016 and was expected to end on March 26, 2016. It has now been extended into April/May.
Disney has experimented with “villain” themed hard-ticket events in the past including the Villains’ Sinister Soiree dinner event during the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom and Villains Unleashed at Hollywood Studios.
