Buying Universal Orlando Tickets

Universal Studios Florida® operate two theme parks in Orlando, Universal Studios and the newer roller-coaster park, Islands of Adventure plus the Volcano Bay water park which replaces Wet n’ Wild and the music and entertainment venue, Universal CityWalk®.

Universal Studios used to sell just one or two day tickets which admitted you to either Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure or both. From January 2010 they started selling their “U Select” pass which gave you the choice of a single park or both parks for either one, two, three, four or seven days admission. This was similar to Disney’s “Magic Your Way” ticket system at the time.

In 2011 the seven day ticket was dropped and replaced by a “length of stay” 14 day ticket for UK visitors only.

In 2016 Universal introduced “seasonal” pricing with two tiers for one day tickets purchased at the gate and a five day park option. In 2018, the seasonal pricing was extended to three tiers.

If you are a Florida resident, you can often get discounts and special privileges with a Florida residents ticket or you can buy an annual pass.

To make it easier to budget your food bills, there is an “all day” meal deal as well as a character meal.

Universal also offer a number of “VIP” tours for those who want something a little special with a more personal touch and priority access to the main attractions and shows.

If you don’t like the idea of waiting to get onto some of the more popular rides then like Disney, SeaWorld and Busch Gardens, Universal also has a “front-of-line” pass called Universal Express.

The “base ticket” gives you access to one park per day whilst the “park-to-park” option allows you to hop between the two parks on any given day, like Disney’s “hopper” add-on.

Universal single and multi-park ticket options are:

If you buy at least a two day ticket, then you also get up to 14 consecutive calendar days of access to the paid venues at Universal CityWalk (excluding the AMC Universal Cineplex 20 and the Blue Man Group Show).

Like most of the Florida theme parks, anyone aged 10 or over on the day of their first entry to the theme parks is classed as an adult and will have to buy an adult ticket.

Children between the ages of 3 and 9 are classed as children and may purchase a child ticket.

Children under the age of 3 are admitted for free.
