If you are planning a vacation or travelling around Florida, it goes without saying that it helps to have a Florida map. There are literally hundreds to choose from, ranging from free maps in local tourist guides and from car rental offices, to city street maps, county maps and Florida state maps.

The free Florida maps may be OK for getting you to and from the airport or to the main attractions but if you plan on travelling further afield then you really need a road atlas or a more detailed Florida map.

Whilst satellite navigation systems are great for getting you from A to B, they can sometimes fall down if you are diverted or simply want to see a bit more of the countryside when travelling around Florida.

Printed maps can show you other points of interest close to your route that you might otherwise miss.

Florida Road Atlases and Vacation Maps

You will find fold-out maps to many places of interest including Orlando, Kissimmee, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Miami, Palm Beach, Ft. Myers, Key West, Pensacola, Tallahassee and St. Augustine produced by publishers like Rand McNally, National Geographic, Insight and Marco Polo.

Interactive Florida Maps

Throughout the Florida Review & Travel Guide site, you will find not only theme park and resort maps but also interactive maps highlighting points of interest. These maps can be dragged and zoomed and you can also overlay detailed satellite images.

Just look for the small Florida map icon.

Satellite Navigation

GPS navigation is becoming increasingly popular and if you are renting a car in Florida, it is relatively cheap to hire a GPS satellite navigation system with complete Florida map coverage for less than $10 per day.

All you need is your destination zip code and address and the satellite navigation system will direct you there safely and quickly.

If you already have your own portable satellite navigation system or satellite navigation software such as TomTom or Garmin in a mobile phone or PDA, then you may be able to buy a set of Florida maps for your specific device but check on potential costs of using mobile data.

Theme Park Guides

With the advances in mobile cell phone technology, you can now get apps including maps, driving directions and up to date queue line wait times from all the major theme parks including Walt Disney World, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens and Universal Studios.
