In 2018, LEGOLAND Florida announced plans to build a new “land” to be called “The LEGO Movie World” on the site of the World of Chima which closed in May 2017.

Located close to LEGO Kingdoms, The LEGO Movie World opened on March 29. 2019.

The LEGO Movie World is based on the successful LEGO movie franchise featuring Emmet and his friends including Wyldstyle, Brickowski and Unikitty in conjunction with Warner Bros. Entertainment. It is set in Bricksburg and features three rides, a large space themed playscape and character meet and greets.

Battle of Bricksburg

The former Quest for Chi interactive boat ride has been re-themed as Battle of Bricksburg. Guests ride around the flooded streets of Bricksburg in construction vehicles and can use water cannon to spray water at targets in an attempt to stop huge DUPLO aliens from stealing LEGO bricks.

Guests who are watching the ride from the sidelines can also take part in the action using conveniently located water cannon around the outside of the ride.

The Splash Battle interactive boat ride was originally built by Mack Rides of Germany.

Masters of Flight

Masters of Flight is a new flying theatre attraction housed in the former Speedorz Arena and is based on the triple-decker flying couch from The LEGO Movie. Guests ride in suspended chairs with an initial 180 degrees of rotation under a full dome virtual screen to give the sensation of flying, a bit like Soarin’ at Epcot.

Guests are also able to smell scents like candy, pine and gunpowder as they travel around a world created entirely out of LEGO bricks, visiting places like Bricksburg, Cloud Cuckoo Land, Middle Zealand and Captain Brickbeard’s Pirate’s Cove.

The M-Ride system is built by Brogent Technologies of China and features four degrees of simulator motion. Total ride time is around 4 1/2 minutes. Each triple-decker flying couch holds 66 passengers spread over three levels. One difference from Soarin’ is that after boarding, the couches rotate through 180 degrees before moving towards the screen.

Unikitty’s Disco Drop

Unikitty’s Disco Drop is a children’s bouncing drop tower ride which carries guests up to Cloud Cuckoo land and then drops, spins and bounces them back down to earth as Unikitty’s emotions change.

The ride holds ten guests and rises up to 35 feet (10.7 m).

Emmet’s Super Suite

Emmet’s Super Suite provides an indoor character meet and greet experience with Emmet and his friends.

Central Hub

The large space-themed playground is based around a 30 foot tall replica of Benny’s spaceship with plenty of character interactions and photo opportunities.

There is also the Taco Tuesday Everyday restaurant and The Awesome Shop featuring LEGO collectables.
